Software Engineer Responsibilities

Help build the next generation of systems behind Facebook’s products, create web and/or mobileapplications that reach over 2 billion people, and build high-volume servers to support content, harnesspassion for technology and graduate-level knowledge, and help build highly-scalable performant solutions.

Make use of graduate-level knowledge of algorithms and core computer science concepts and the ability toapply knowledge to real-world systems without direct assistance.

Make the most of the ability to recognizeand match patterns from different areas of computer science in production systems and hone skill in makingarchitectural decisions.

Employ deep knowledge in at least one area: data processing, programminglanguages, databases, networking, operating systems, computer graphics, or human-computer interactions.

Minimum Qualifications

Employer will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Software, Computer Engineering, Applied Sciences, Mathematics, Physics, or related field and 6 months ofexperience in the job offered or a related occupation.

Experiencemust include 6 months of experience in the following:

1.C, C++, C#, or Java

2.Python, PHP, or Haskell

3.Software development tools: Code editors (VIM or Emacs) and revision control systems (Subversion, GIT or Perforce)

4.Linux, Unix, or other *nix-like OS as evidenced by file manipulator, advanced commands and shell scripting

5.Core web technologies: HTML, CSS, or Javascript

6.Data processing, programming languages, databases, networking, operating systems, computer graphics, or human-computer interaction

$221,596/year to $240,240/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
