Software Engineer Responsibilities
  • Help build the next generation of systems behind Meta's products, create web and/or mobile applications thatreach over two billion people, and build high-volume servers to support content.
  • Harness passion fortechnology and graduate-level knowledge, and help build highly-scalable performant solutions.
  • Make use ofgraduate-level knowledge of algorithms and core computer science concepts and ability to apply knowledgeto real world systems.
  • Without direct assistance, make the most of ability to recognize and match patternsfrom different areas of computer science in production systems and hone skill in making architecturaldecisions.
  • Employ deep knowledge in at least one area: data processing, programming languages,databases, networking, operating systems, computer graphics, or human computer interaction.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field. Foreign equivalent accepted. Requires a graduate-level course, research project, or internship involving the following:
  • 1.Coding in at least one of the following industry-standard languages: C, C++, Java, or C#
  • 2.Creating web applications using at least one of the following: Python, PHP, or Ruby
  • 3.Relational databases and SQL
  • 4.Conducting design and code reviews
  • 5.Object-oriented software development
  • 6.Coding in Java
  • 7.Building maintainable and testable codes bases including API design and unit testing techniques
  • 8.Software development tools: Code editors (VIM or Emacs), and revision control systems (Subversion, GIT, or Perforce)
  • 9.Linux, UNIX, or other *nix-like OS including file manipulation and simple commands
  • 10.Core web technologies: HTML, CSS, or JavaScript.

$155,605/year to $158,400/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base hourly rate, monthly rate, or annual salary only, and do not include bonus, equity or sales incentives, if applicable.
