Job Title: Sr, Business Data Analyst

Current Need

McKesson’s Pharmaceutical Solutions and Services (PSaS) Decision Intelligence (DI) team is looking for a Senior Business Data Analyst to support strategic data initiatives. DI team focuses on facilitating a data driven culture and creating business value through data and advanced analytics. The successful candidate will possess business acumen, strong analytical skills along with the ability to engage stakeholders to deliver innovative digital solutions that enable effective decision making.  

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: 

• Develop a comprehensive understanding of the business unit’s strategic priorities, as well as current processes, data, and technology landscape at McKesson. 

• Identify opportunities where data and analytics can be leveraged to enhance decision-making processes by engaging with stakeholders. 

• Identify key value drivers and develop hypotheses to address critical business questions using data-driven insights. 

• Perform advanced data analysis, from various data sources, both internal and external, interpret findings, and translate them into actionable insights. 

• Utilize BI tools such as PowerBI and Tableau to visualize and communicate findings effectively. 

• Serve as an internal consultant, providing actionable insights and recommendations based on data analysis. 

• Assist in defining the business case for data solutions, including creating prototypes to demonstrate feasibility and potential impact. 

• Measure the business impact of prototypes relative to the value hypotheses developed. 

• Continuously iterate and improve solutions based on feedback and performance metrics. 

• Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify requirements and support the development of data-driven solutions.  

• Act as a liaison between the business and technology domains, effectively communicating business needs to technology developers. 

• Facilitate the industrialization of prototypes by providing guidance and insights to the development team.

Must have:

• Strong in Healthcare domain
• Hands-on experience in Azure Databricks
• Expert in developing data visualization using Tableau / Power Bi tools

Critical Requirements 

• 7+ years of experience as a data analyst, business intelligence analyst, market research analyst, financial analyst, statistician, or equivalent role 

• Deep knowledge of business analytics and associated practices relevant to the healthcare/pharmaceutical/biotech industries 

• Expert in using data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI 

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, applied mathematics, machine learning, or a related data centric-technical field 

• Strong experience with SQL, data extraction methodologies, relational and dimensional databases methods 

• Expertise in applying data analysis, data science, BI reporting and other analytics frameworks and techniques to influence business decisions  

• Outstanding verbal and written communication with all levels of management, ability to translate business needs to technical requirements 

• Experience working in Agile framework 

• Ability to work in a matrix environment and build partnership with both internal and external stakeholders 

Additional Requirements    

• Experience with cloud computing data platforms: e.g., Azure, AWS, Databricks, Snowflake 

• Understanding of AI/ML machine learning and predictive modeling techniques
