Current Need

We are currently seeking a Data Analytics Project Manager for Internal Audit – the position location is flexible across our team offices in Irving TX, and Alpharetta, GA.  This role will assist in the development of solutions aligned to automate auditing and continuous monitoring, as well as other ad hoc projects around reporting and data analysis. This is an exceptional opportunity for a strong Data Analyst who is looking for a highly influential yet technical position.

Position Description

The Audit Analytics Project Manager is a new position and will lead audit analytics efforts using data mining, data visualization, and other tools to produce analysis throughout the audit process. This individual will play a key role in maintaining, developing, and communicating continuous audit programs that provide more efficient and complete assurance coverage and/or insight across available transactional data. The data analytics program will deepen the team’s and McKesson’s understanding of risk and dramatically increase the impact of the Internal Audit department. The Audit Analytics Project Manager will report directly to the Senior Manager of Audit Analytics and will contribute to the development of the audit analytics program by creating analytic models, continuous monitoring analytics, and dashboards and driving change within internal audit teams in identifying opportunities for applying such analytics to their engagements. The department currently uses SQL for analysis and data manipulation, and Tableau for Data Visualization but will expand to emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Robotics Process Automation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and lead the development of new data analytic tools to provide insights and increase efficiency
  • Use data analysis tools to automate audit testing and develop techniques for continuous auditing and analyzing large volumes of data
  • Lead data analytic efforts in supporting internal audit programs, including developing scope planning, execution, and reporting
  • Lead brainstorming activities and the creation of ad-hoc/continuous monitoring reporting as needed to support internal investigations, special projects, and the on-going monitoring of fraud risks
  • Perform risk assessments and develop KRIs that trigger inputs into the annual audit plan
  • Build relationships with auditees and data experts within the business to understand process and system flows and their audit and data implications and assist in designing audit testing
  • Leads Internal Audit staff through the development and presentation of fraud/data mining related training including sourcing, cleaning, transferring, and loading data to analytics tools
  • Evaluate and communicate project results to the Audit Analytics Director and discuss potential best practices, continuous monitoring reports and/or COSO audit steps, where applicable, to maintain a focus on the related fraud/internal control risk going forward
  • Manage multiple projects with attention to detail and product timely results
  • Seek to improve job performance through self-assessment, skill development, training, and goal setting
  • Learn and research data sources within McKesson, across various business units and systems
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

6+ years of experience (3+ years in data analysis)

Critical Skills  

  • Strong quantitative analysis background and experience in working with large, complex data systems to aggregate, organize, and prepare data for use in business analysis
  • SQL writing proficiency, experience using a modern object-oriented programming language such as R or Python which can be used to perform data analytics
  • Ability to use tools and technology to analyze large data sets
  • Able to demonstrate creativity and research skills to tackle analytics or automation projects without step-by-step instructions
  • Ability to leverage McKesson’s internal resources or publicly available information to solve problems and build data models
  • Data visualization and/or power point presentation skills to effectively communicate insights
  • Excellent organization, communication, project management and analytical skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information
  • Ability to work and succeed in a multi-cultural environment
  • Effective project management skills
  • Experience solving complex problems and identifying innovative solutions
  • Experience working with both internal and external data

Additional Knowledge & Skills

  • Experience with tools such as SAP, Alteryx, Tableau, Python, Power BI or equivalent preferred
  • Strategic, proactive, creative, innovative, and collaborative
  • Able to use sound judgment and exhibit professional skepticism
  • Must be flexible, team oriented and able to accept and create change
  • Fast and capable learner
  • Previous experience creating dashboards, management reporting, and trend analysis
  • Project management experience is a plus
  • Enjoys process improvement projects
  • Mature Confidence/Integrity

Education

BA or BS degree or equivalent experience required, Masters preferred.

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$108,000 - $180,000
