Lunar

Senior Backend Engineer - Finance & Regulatory

Copenhagen, Denmark Aarhus, Denmark

Description

At Lunar we are democratizing the power of money and changing the way we all bank, pay and invest. We have grown by leaps and bounds since starting out in Aarhus in 2015 and are now considered a major player in the Nordics with offices in Copenhagen, Aarhus, and Stockholm, as well as employees working remotely across Europe and the UK.

As we continue to scale our impact, we are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with a focus on the finance and regulatory domains to join our Tech department in Copenhagen or Aarhus. For this position, you will report to Simon Stubben, our Head of Technology - Finance, and work in a team consisting of six Software Engineers, a Data Platform Engineer, and a Product Owner.

At Lunar, we work in squads, which are interdisciplinary teams with a composition of different skills. You will share the technical ownership over the services that support the customer reporting domain, and as a squad, you decide on the operational priorities, why and how to implement solutions, and the general way of working internally and externally. On a daily basis, you will get to work together with a sea of exciting skills: Your services must interact with the rest of our system's microservices, and you must make sure the right data is available for analysis and predictions for our Data & Analytics team.

The main area of responsibility is the development of services that empower our internal finance operations, and ensuring that data is readily available for regulatory reporting purposes. Besides development work, you are expected to take part in broader discussions in the squad as well, e.g. solution considerations, day-to-day processes, requirements management, and stakeholder management.

We welcome all to apply to this exciting and impactful role and look forward to following up with candidates who we believe are the best potential fit based on the following criteria:

  • Previous experience in a Bank/Finance/Regulatory IT department or with compliance reporting solutions is highly advantageous.

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar.

  • At least 4 years of experience working as a Software Engineer or similar

  • Fluent in English, Danish is a plus.

  • Technical capabilities
    • Event Driven and distributed / microservice architecture

    • Event Sourced, Domain Driven Design

    • Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages

Tech Stack: Go, SQL, gRPC, RabbitMQ, Kafka, are nice-to-haves but not a requirement to be a great match.

If this is you, please read on to learn more and consider applying. We look forward to hearing from you!

What will you do?

  • Design and implement services within the finance and regulatory domains.
