Senior Software Engineer, Data

As a Senior Software Engineer, Data at Liftoff, you will: 

• Multiple positions available.

• Develop a robust, real-time data pipeline for internal teams and clients.

• Assist in implementing large scale data stores that maximize performance and reliability for clients.

• Collaborate in building a distributed data analytics platform to meet internal and external business requirements.

• Maintain and optimize existing data platform and its infrastructure.

• Use strong communication skills (verbal and written) to work with different teams (including product management, project management, and sales team, among others) to deliver high quality software and data analytics products.

• Write software API for both internal teams and external customers to easily access data.

• Create data visualization dashboards for analytic team’s usage.

• Build data reports for business usage.

• Gather data requirements from both upstream and downstream tech teams and collaborate on data flow and data schema.

• Support operations in the Asia Pacific and China region.

• Telecommuting is permitted. Employee may request to work from any city & county in the following states: CA, CO, GA, MO, NJ, NY, OR, RI, TX, WA.

• Salary: $183,310 - $210,000 per year.

   

  
  Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field plus 5 years of professional experience performing software or data engineering (including analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, testing, and maintaining software systems or applications). In lieu of a Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of experience, the employer will accept a Master’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field plus 3 years of professional experience in performing software or data engineering (including analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, testing, and maintaining software systems or applications).

   

  Must also have experience in the following: 3 years of professional experience building, maintaining, and improving software infrastructure used to process and analyze data; 3 years of professional experience in applying Advanced Object-Oriented programming paradigm and implementation using programming languages (including Java, Scala, or Go); 3 years of professional experience in building highly scalable distributed storage systems optimized for heavy data access concurrencies (Redshift, MongoDB, DynamoDb, or MySQL); 3 years of professional experience in applying data processing technologies (including Spark, Kafka, LogStash, or Elastic Search); 3 years of professional experience in using data storage technologies (including Cassandra, MemSQL, MySQL, Redshift, MongoDB, DynamoDb, or S3); 3 years of professional experience in using Go, or Python, or Shell; 3 years of professional experience developing scalable ETL packages and routines to gather and process raw data at scale (including writing scripts); 3 years of professional experience enabling and running data migrations across different databases and servers (including DynamoDB, Redshift, Cassandra, or MemSQL); and 1 year of professional experience in building a real time data pipeline using data processing platforms (including Spark and Kafka).
