ABOUT THIS TEAM: 

Liftoff is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our IT Team and provide additional support for project-related needs. Our IT Team is one of the key backbones for our company and maintains all essential IT operations for Liftoff. This includes operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware.


Responsibilities:

  • Own projects, solutions, and key responsibilities within a larger business initiative
  • Design, implementation, and ongoing management of the Okta Identity and Access management platform.
  • Implement overall AWS management and controls
  • Manage the complete lifecycle of user identities, including provisioning, de-provisioning, and access modifications. Implement and maintain automated workflows for user onboarding and offboarding.
  • Leverage APIs to integrate, automate and administer SaaS services such as Google Workspace, Slack, Google Meet and other services not fully integrated with Okta or Okta workflows.
  • Continue developing and maturing our IaaS functionality leveraging Hashicorp Secret Manager, Terraform, Kubernetes, and Github Actions.
  • Identifying gaps between SaaS based automations and existing scripts and determining the best approach to shore up those deficiencies.
  • Develop system-monitoring and support automation to enhance and scale the quality of support
  • Enhance existing network configurations to make recommendations and implementing changes keeping IT and Security requirements in mind.
  • Handle business-critical IT tasks and systems that provide commercial advantage in a global marketplace
  • Enable faster and smarter business processes and implement analytics for meaningful insights
  • Analyze the AI landscape to determine existing and potential tools to implement to further improve our use in both IT and the overall business. 
  • Nurture dependable IT infrastructure and networking that’s always up and running
  • Partner with internal and external partners to communicate project status, activities, and achievements
  • Own projects, solutions, and key responsibilities within a larger business initiative

Requirements

  • 7+ years experience with SaaS applications such as Okta, Google Workspace, Slack, JAMF, Crowdstrike and other tools
  • Strong networking background, preferably within a full Meraki network stack
  • 5+ years experience with AWS platform and architecture. 
  • Strong scripting skills and API experience
  • Recommended Experience
  • JIRA project management and administration
  • Terraform
  • Mac centric endpoint environment

This role is eligible for remote-first work in CA, OR, or WA and this person will periodically (1-2x/month) be reporting to our office headquarters in Redwood City, CA.

Liftoff offers all employees a full compensation package that includes equity and health/vision/dental benefits associated with your country of residence. Base compensation will vary based on candidate location and experience. The following are our base salary ranges for this role: 

SF Bay Area, NYC, Los Angeles/Orange County: $145,000 - $165,000
