Software Engineer Intern

We are looking for a Software Development Engineering Intern who is excited about building an industry-leading, next-generation Cloud Security System.

Backend teams implement highly distributed microservices architecture for solving problems such as large scale data ingestion, security anomaly detection, alerting and notification, policy engine for highly customizable policies, Lacework Query Language for external developers, variety of data services, restful APIs for external developers, data egress.

The Role:

The position will be Remote. During the 12-week internship, you'll be a full-time member of the Engineering team and paired with a mentor on your team. You will have the guidance, environment, and the responsibility of deploying your projects to production. You will work on real projects, features, and updates that will affect our customers worldwide!

Qualifications:

Pursuing a degree in Computer Science or a related field, with demonstrated software engineering talent and a passion to help further our mission for security at scale.
Must be currently enrolled in a full-time degree program and returning to the program after the completion of the internship.

• Comfortable writing code in at least one programming language. 
• Familiarity relational databases ( MySQL, Postgres, SQLServer, Oracle ), and ease of working with UNIX or any Linux Platform
• Knowledge of compilers and/or Kubernetes would be a plus
• Curious mind, and eager to learn variety of tools and technologies

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Java
• Working knowledge/experience with AWS offerings (such as Kinesis, SQS)
• Comfortable in implementing, testing Java based microservices or writing Python based code (especially for testing and automation)
• Ability to write automation tests  
• Knowledge of relational database engines like MySQL, Postgres, SQLServer, Oracle 
• Sharp analytical abilities and proven design skills
• Experience in data modeling and analysis, especially with distinctive data sources
