Senior Front End Developer

We are looking for an experienced front-end Senior Front-end Web Developer to join our growing team. Reporting to Senior Director, Web Strategy, you will be responsible for building and maintaining modern and responsive client-side web interfaces. An eye for design for a best-in-class user experience is critical to success. In this role, you will be maintaining the brand and feel of the online experience, as well as implementing website optimizations and landing pages.

Responsibilities:

• Coding, designing, implementing, and modifying websites from layout to function
• Hands-on experience with headless CMS architectures and modern front-end frameworks (Gatsby, Netlify). 
• Work with designers and cross-functional teams to build and refine designs and experiences for websites.
• Enforce a high level of quality and UAT in deployment processes.
• Ability to troubleshoot browser issues, bugs, and deployment pipelines.
• Develop code architecture that promotes reuse, readability, responsiveness, and best-practice coding standards.
• Come up with elegant solutions to complex problems.
• Stay current with rapid innovation in web technologies.
• Participate as a team member to generate new ideas, and creatively discuss ways in which the team can improve web presence.
• Update and manage analytics and ad tags across the company's online properties for effective data intelligence.
• Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
• Train and guide other developers on new or existing applications and current technology trends.

Skills Required

• Self-starter and able to find issues and resolve them with limited direction
• Expert in modern development languages including HTML5, CSS3, ES6/7/8, React, Next.js, Gatsby
• Experience with web analytics and tag management solutions such as Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and Amplitude 
• Experience with CSS preprocessors (SASS/LESS) and methodologies (BEM, SMACCS, OOCSS, etc.) and responsive frameworks (Bootstrap 5, Tailwind, Foundation, Bulma, Etc.) 
• Skilled in working with debugging tools like Firebug, Chrome Inspector, etc.
• Experience with CSS animations, interactivity, and coding SVG. 
• Experience with headless CMS infrastructure
• Skilled in using workflow automation tools such as Gulp, Grunt, etc. 
• Experience with Cloud platforms and web service management such as AWS, managed hosting platforms, and serverless backend services and build tools such as Netlify, etc.
• Knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs and formats (JSON, XML)
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git
• Establishing and guiding multi-lingual website architecture. Experience with Smartling is a plus.
• Familiarity with decoupled / headless infrastructure for WordPress is a plus.

Experience & Qualifications Required

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science or a related subject
• 7 -10 years of web development experience
• Working knowledge of the general web development landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies
• A desire to architect great pages and build robust, reusable components
• Solid understanding of the full web development life cycle
• Excellent communication skills
• A high capability to self-manage projects
• Creative and strategic thinking to develop innovative solutions to problems
• Experience pulling in data from REST-based APIs through various frameworks and methods
• Front-end performance optimization and knowledge of best practices.
• Experience with responsive design 
• Strong project management skills (Agile)

Comp: Salary Range: $125,000 - $150,000 USD Annually + Bonus + Equity + Benefits (including health, dental, wellness reimbursement, BetterUp coaching/learning programs, and more)
