Software Engineer

Klaviyo, Inc. Software Engineer position in Boston, MA: Design, develop, and modify customized software features on real-time data platform. Research, design, develop, implement, and tune highly visible stream processing software systems. Build system prototypes to evaluate functional and non-functional improvements to data processing systems. Build software solutions to real-time data processing problems at high scale. Analyze user needs and develop event streaming software solutions. Update software and enhance existing software capabilities. Maintain databases within an application area. Analyze information to determine, recommend, and plan installation of a new system or modification of an existing system. Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Confer with data processing or project managers on limitations or capabilities for data processing projects. Confer with system analysts, engineers, programmers, and others to design systems and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements, and interfaces. Coordinate installation, maintenance, migration, and upgrades of software systems. Develop or direct software system testing or validation procedures, programming, and documentation. Monitor functioning of software. Participate in on-call rotations to promptly respond to errors in system operation. Architect and design robust and high performance data processing and storage systems. Apply technical skills in all facets ranging from front-end web development and user experience to machine learning and massively parallelized data pipelines.
