This position can be based remotely in any of our approved hiring regions. Our hybrid distributed workforce philosophy allows us to find the best talent in the country and build diverse teams, while allowing our colleagues to work from the location that works best for them. For those who prefer to work in-office, we have locations in San Francisco and Pittsburgh. We also plan to use these spaces to bring together teammates to drive creativity and innovation.

Kiavi is seeking a Senior Databricks Engineer to lead the development of a Real-Time Data Platform on Databricks and share your expertise with the team. As a key member of our Data Engineering team, you will design and implement data pipelines that turn raw data into actionable insights. We're looking for a problem-solver with a passion for innovation, an insatiable curiosity and exceptional communication skills to join us in this exciting journey!

Core Job Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and implementation of data migration solutions using Databricks and Snowflake in an AWS environment
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Develop and maintain real-time data pipelines, data lakes, and data warehouses
• Ensure data quality, security, and compliance standards are met
• Mentor and train team members on best practices and emerging technologies in data engineering

Basic Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering
• Strong experience with Databricks, Snowflake, and AWS
• Strong understanding of data modeling, delta lake, data warehousing, and ETL concepts
• Strong experience with Stream Processing specifically with Spark Structured Streaming, DLT, etc
• Strong programming skills in PySpark, Python and/or Scala
• Experience with data governance and security best practices
• Certifications such as Databricks Lakehouse Data Engineer, Associate, and AWS Certified Developer, Associate

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with data migration in a regulated industry such as healthcare or finance
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Looker
• Experience with agile development methodologies
• Strong communication and leadership skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Kiavi takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. The expected annualized base pay range for this full-time role to be performed remotely is $134,700 - $170,000 + equity + benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Your recruiter can share more about the specific base pay range for your preferred location during the hiring process. Please note that the pay range listed above reflects the base salary only, and does not include the target value of equity, or benefits.
