What does our Internship Program offer? 

Key’s Enterprise Internship is a 10.5-week program that provides meaningful work that matters, offers feedback and coaching, and creates engaging events and conversations that will spark excitement and interest in bringing one’s full-time career to Key post college.

Interns are involved in a host of line of business specific projects that directly impact and benefit Key’s business and strategic pillars. The program includes networking with Key teammates across all levels of the organization, a series of Learning Labs where internal and external speakers provide insight on Key’s competitive landscape, financial wellness, and professional development best practices, and an assigned mentor who shares knowledge, experience, and advice.

• Business Delivery, providing comprehensive technology solutions to Key’s lines of business & functional areas
• Enterprise Technology including architecture, infrastructure, networks, data centers and cloud technology to ensure stable systems and platforms
• Enterprise Data and Information Management, enabling transformation of customer and market data into valuable insights and analytics
• Enterprise Operations, spanning Origination through Default Management (1.1 million loans worth $82 billion); Deposit Operations (5 million client accounts); ACH, Wire & Check Payment Operations ($400 billion monthly), Treasury Operations
• Enterprise Security, including Tech Risk Management, Information Security, Cybersecurity, Fraud Detection/Management, BSA/AML Operations and Physical Security

Key Technology, Operations and Services Internship Program

Our summer internship program spans 10 weeks in duration and allows you to work alongside KeyBank’s experts within Key Technology, Operations & Services (KTOS). The internship provides an opportunity to get hands-on experience with our innovative security teams. Our internships will equip you with competitive skills, valuable networking and mentoring and exposure to executives through a structured experience. 

Job Responsibilities:

• Work alongside industry experts and professionals on critical projects
• Exposure to KeyBank and Key Technology, Operations & Services
• Training and learning opportunities:
  • On-the-job training, Excel and PowerPoint, Office 365, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, VBA
  • Enhancing soft skills, problem resolution and critical thinking
  • Opportunities to use industry leading software (examples include: Tableau, ServiceNow, Visual Studio, Jira, Automation Anywhere, Jenkins, PowerShell, HTML, C#, Python, SQL, JavaScript)
• Community involvement, networking opportunities and engagement with senior leaders
• Upon successful completion of the internship, you will have the opportunity to be considered for placement (after graduation) in our KTOS Rotational Analyst Program. Candidacy for the program will be based on skills demonstrated, performance, career interests, internship experience and business demand.

Information/Placement Opportunities for Security Track 

Enterprise Security Services (ESS) defends Key, our clients and our data by establishing and maintaining security standards. ESS is responsible for supporting Key through Anti Money Laundering (AML) Operations, Corporate Information Security, Fraud Services, and Physical Security Solutions. Detail-oriented individuals have the opportunity to fine tune their technical skills while protecting the bank from malicious attacks.

Qualifications

• Graduating with a four-year degree or graduate level degree by May 2025 with focused coursework in Computer Science, Information Systems, IT Management, Software Engineering, Web Development, Computer Programming, Network Engineering, Game Design and System Administration or related field or Industrial Engineering, Operations, Statistics/ Mathematics, Business, or related field
• Outstanding academic achievement (minimum 3.0 GPA)
• Demonstrated leadership and teamwork from past work experience and/or extracurricular activities
• Bring solid analytical, problem solving, communication and presentation skills
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
• Possess intellectual curiosity, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn

Compensation and Benefits

This position is eligible to earn an hourly rate of $22 per hour. Compensation also includes a $2,000.00 Summer Internship Sign-on Bonus.

KeyBank’s Campus Program Internship and Analyst positions are not eligible for employment visa sponsorship (e.g., H-1B visa). This includes, for example, situations where a candidate may have temporary work authorization while enrolled in school or upon graduation (e.g., CPT, OPT) but would need H-1B visa sponsorship within a few years of employment in order to maintain employment eligibility.
