Senior Tech Marketing Engineer

Kentik is looking for a highly motivated Senior Technical Marketing Engineer to own the Kentik demo experience for prospects, customers, and partners. This is an exceptionally collaborative role in which you’ll be working across the organization and partnering with team leads in Product, Sales Engineering, and Marketing. The ideal candidate for this role is technical, creative, and has a strong sense of empathy for the challenges faced by network and cloud teams.

• Own the end-to-end Kentik demo experience, including planning, prioritization deployment, and running externally facing demos
• Partner with the Product and PMM teams to outline demo scenarios that map to key use cases and solve prospect pain points
• Ensure an always up-to-date, stable, and performant demo environment
• Collaborate with Sales/SE teams to ensure the demo scenarios are understood by the GTM organization and Kentik partners
• Continuously update demo env with new product capabilities and use cases, as we release new functionality and products
• Showcase Kentik’s competitive advantages by working with the sales team to anticipate competitive comparisons and demonstrate Kentik’s differentiation

• 6+ years of experience in Product Marketing, Engineering, or Product for network or related technologies
• Deep understanding of network infrastructures, including hybrid cloud, Internet, edge, WAN/SD-WAN, as well as network concepts, including routing, switching, BGP, MPLS, and NetFlow/IPFIX/sFlow
• 5+ years of experience creating technical content, such as documentation or how-to blog posts, to support sales, marketing, customer success, and partner teams
• Ability to conduct technical conversations with teams ranging from staff-level engineers and architects to senior executives, and from those interactions create use cases and demo scenarios
• Hands-on experience with Cloud Service Providers (CSP): AWS, Azure, GCP
• Strong understanding of CSP logging methodologies
• Proficiency with cloud identity, access, certificates, and keys
• Familiarity with security risk assessments and security frameworks
• Proficiency working with APIs, Linux, Python, Ansible, Terraform, Docker, and K8s
• Direct hands-on experience with one or more network observability suites (e.g. Kentik, Arbor/Netscout, SolarWinds, ManageEngine, Splunk, Nagios, Dynatrace, Catchpoint, etc.)
• Strong understanding of network and application protocols (e.g. DNS, BGP, Netflow, TCP/IP, HTTP) and their use for infrastructure design and operations
• Working experience programming/scripting (Python, Bash, Ruby, PHP, etc.)
• Working experience with APIs, maintaining RESTful code
• Working experience in network and routing security (DDoS mitigation/scrubbing, Firewalls, Security Groups, NACLs, microsegmentation, RPKI)
• Working experience in creating and analyzing traffic packet captures (tcpdump, Wireshark, etc.)
• Working experience with Linux/UNIX systems administration
• Experience with synthetic/network performance testing
• Experience working with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.)

The compensation range for this position is $150,000 - $220,000. This range reflects the low and high end of the U.S. compensation range Kentik reasonably and generally expects to pay the hired candidate in this role. The actual compensation offered may be lower or higher than the stated range depending on various factors, including but not limited to:

• Experience with the skill sets required for success
• Demonstrated competencies and potential 
• A geographic market-based approach
