Principal Software Engineer

Position Overview: We are currently seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our dedicated team. As a vital member of our team, you will primarily focus on the front and back end of the product, which runs on AWS. This position requires a minimum of 3-5 years of software engineering experience, a B.Sc. in computer science or equivalent education, and a strong background in security (an advantage).  

Responsibilities: 

• Collaborate with a global team, including engineering teams in Ireland, India, and the United States, to contribute to the development of security platform. 
• Focus on both the front and back of the product, ensuring its robustness, scalability, and security. 
• Participate in designing, implementing, and maintaining features and enhancements.
• Use languages such as Typescript, JavaScript, and SQL to build efficient and effective solutions. 
• Employ your background in security to enhance the security measures and response capabilities of the platform. 
• Collaborate closely with the Director of Engineering to align technical strategies and project milestones. 
• Demonstrate self-driven initiative and work autonomously in a distributed team environment. 
• Uphold high coding standards and produce well-documented and maintainable code. 

Qualifications: 

• Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on software engineering experience, with a track record of delivering high-quality software solutions. 
• Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent education in a related field. 
• Experience with Node.js and docker.
• Experience with React.
• Familiarity with AWS and cloud-based architectures. 
• Knowledge of security best practices for web applications and data protection. 
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns. 
• Proficiency in debugging, profiling, and optimizing code for performance and efficiency. 
• Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git. 
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a passion for continuous improvement. 
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with international teams. 
• Strong background in security concepts and practices (an advantage).
