Summary
A Quality Assurance Engineer (QA Engineer) is a critical role at RocketCyber responsible for the design and execution of system testing on software implementations. A QA Engineer works collaboratively with the project team for all testing related activities. This role will be responsible for writing and executing manual test cases, tracking defects as they arise, and act as the key point of contact for QA related issues and concerns.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Work with the development team to plan test cases for user stories/features.
- Developing and executing QA strategy and continuous improvement activities for the QA lifecycle.
- Review story acceptance criteria and ensure it matches overall project requirements.
- Perform manual testing against acceptance criteria.
- Coordinate with QA team to perform regression testing when needed.
- Report and track issues.
- Evaluate project changes for testing impact.
- Contribute to improving the QA processes making them more robust and efficient.
- Work directly with developers to questions answered while testing systems.
Qualifications
Required
- Has 2+ years of experience as a QA Engineer.
- Experience on an agile development team in the role of a QA Engineer performing manual testing.
- Experience writing SQL queries.
- Experience writing test cases.
- Experience with Postman.
Preferred
- Experience within the software security space.
- Experience working with Windows, Mac and Linux systems.
Skills
- A highly motivated person that is passionate about collaborating with others to drive results and can motivate others to do the same to improve the organization.
- Someone who possesses a team-first mentality and is open-minded, proactive and process driven.
- Sound technical experience with software development and can understand translate business requests into consumable software development stories and vice versa.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with a high attention to detail and impeccable time management skills.
- Ability to self-manage to identify problems, mediate issues, develop solutions, and implement appropriate courses of action.
- Highly proficient with MS Office, Jira and Confluence (or equivalent tools).
- Ability to expertly read, write and speak in the English language.
