The Datto Networking group is seeking an accomplished Embedded Software Engineer with WiFi and linux networking experience.
This team provides networking and security services managed in the cloud. Datto’s Networking products span from cloud managed devices like Access Points, Switches and Routers to providing services in the cloud for example security. We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer who is an out of the box thinker, passionate about solving problems and open to new ideas.
Your responsibilities:
· Develop kernel modules for WiFi & networking applications.
· Ability to debug WiFi and network driver issues.
· Develop and maintain Datto’s firewall features.
· Develop software applications for networking devices such as WiFi access points, routers, network security appliances, etc.,
· Debug and resolve issues that are beyond customer support & QA.
· Collaborate with hardware and software developers on a day to day basis.
About you:
· Bachelor of Science in CS/CE/EE discipline with 5+ years of embedded software development experience in an Agile environment
· Excellent understanding and experience with wifi & network device drivers, especially open source WiFi drivers for Qualcomm chipsets like ath10k and ath11k.
· Excellent kernel debugging skills.
· Excellent working experience with Linux network firewalls experience
· Excellent firmware/embedded programming experience
· Excellent knowledge of C, linux, shell scripts, and Python.
· Excellent 802.11 working experience
· Strong knowledge of hostapd and wpa_supplicant.
· Bonus: Has contributed to open source, especially around WiFi and networking stacks.
· Bonus: Firmware development based on OpenWRT/LEDE
· Bonus: Experience with ARM SoCs.
