The Opportunity
As a Platform Engineer at Kandji, you will assist with efforts to design, build, and scale our cloud computing platform while meeting strong quality, performance, scalability, reliability, and security goals. You will work alongside our Platform Engineering Team and our Security, Data, and Application Development teams to help maintain Kandji’s stellar record of solid stability.
We are looking for that engineer who has the foundational experience to work on our already existing solutions and designs and can maintain and extend them. You should have strong attention to detail, especially around quality, performance, and reliability, and thrive in an agile, collaborative environment.
The successful candidate will grow to work increasingly unassisted on Kandji's cloud computing platform, eventually becoming an expert on it, and grow to take on more responsibility within the team and wider company.
Required to work on-site 3 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday). Managers may require additional on-site days.
How You Will Make a Difference Day to Day:
- Build and use DevOps tools to deploy, maintain, and update infrastructure.
- Maintain and improve SLA’s with proactive monitoring.
- Support an increasing volume of customer transactions by improving infrastructure scalability.
- Work across engineering teams to facilitate application deployments, infrastructure utilization, root cause analysis, and performance improvements.
- Ensure high-security standards are designed and implemented into all tooling and infrastructure solutions.
- There will be expectation to be in the on call rotations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 2 - 3 years of experience with building, deploying, administration, and monitoring SaaS applications and related cloud computing infrastructure.
- Hands-on experience with containerized platforms like Docker and container orchestration including but not limited to Kubernetes, Argo CI/CD, Helm
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD platforms
- Experience with AWS, specifically EC2, RDS, EKS, IAM, S3, and CloudTrail.
- Experience with Infrastructure as code. We use Terraform.
- Experience with Linux Architecture, such as Ubuntu, Redhat and Amazon Linux 2.
- Experience scripting with languages such as Bash, Python, Ruby, or Go.
- 2 years of experience with logging and monitoring tools such as ELK, New Relic, Datadog, Sumologic, AppDynamics, Splunk, or Sentry.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with technologies in the Hashicorp toolset, Packer, Vault, Consul, Nomad
- Experience ensuring and implementing security controls
- Knowledge of NoSQL and RDBMS database platforms such as PostgresDB, Redis, DynamoDB, Cassandra, or Mongo
