Job Description

Primary Function of Position:

As part of the global People and Strategy Consulting function of HR, the Sr. Director, HR Business Leader (HRBL) will provide human capital-centered thought leadership and strategic solutions to address business challenges of the executive leadership team across product and product enabling functions.  Reporting to the Vice President, People Strategy and Consulting, this leader will partner closely with our CoE’s (Centers of Expertise), People Services and People Solutions teams to proactively deliver initiatives and insights that drive and sustain human performance across the product operations teams. This individual will be a direct people manager to a small team of HRBLs and will be responsible to guide and support their team in the development of unique solutions as well as cross-functionally aligned initiatives.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Proactively collaborate across client group senior leaders to translate business needs into impactful talent strategies and solutions that support business objectives and success. Identify areas of cross-functional impact and align solutions appropriately while considering broader implications within the overall enterprise.
  • Serve as a thought leader for the client groups on leadership expectations, culture, organizational performance and organizational design. Provide consultation on organizational health data; leverage business information and data analytics to inform solutions.
  • Leveraging the extended HR team, develop and deliver focused solutions to support the unique talent strategies.
  • In partnership with leadership, develop strategic long-term organizational talent plans to inform and establish workforce plans in support of future scale and growth. 
  • Build a strong consultative relationship with senior leadership as a trusted advisor and sounding board. Provide coaching & mentoring to business leaders.
  • Implement corporate strategies and programs into the business; measure and track success and proactively drive improvement. Influence the design of future enterprise programs to better support the business.
  • Drive and coordinate major change management initiatives aligned to the functional and company strategy and culture, building employee and organizational support and commitment.
  • Anticipate gaps / future people requirements and develop sourcing, performance and rewards strategies for business-critical roles. Influence, consult and provide insights to business leaders in executive-level calibration reviews.   
  • Educate and advise senior leaders on complex people matters related to their team members within their function/site/country guiding them through legal requirements and dynamics to come to an effective resolution.

  • Ability to be in the office 3+ days a week
  • Ability to travel 10-15% of time.

Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelors (BS/BA) in Business Management, Human Resources, or related field is required; Masters in similar fields ideal but not required.
  • Minimum of 15 year’s experience; of which 8+ years as an HRBP or in client-facing capacity
  • Minimum of 5+ years as a people leader.
  • Experience in a high growth, high tech global company.
  • Relevant industry experience and/or experience in medical device and/or engineering/technical organizations.

It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications.
