Job Description

Primary Function of Position:

We are looking for a Data Scientist intern who will support our Global Operations teams. Minimizing supply chain risk and optimizing our manufacturing operations help surgeons and their associated institutions succeed in providing better patient outcomes.

The ideal candidate should be highly skilled in data analytics including visualization and use advanced data modeling, predictive modeling, and advanced systematic and AI techniques to interpret key findings from company data and translate these insights into initiatives that will support business outcomes.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Gather business requirements and establish most effective and efficient reporting methods.
• Analyze/Model data and build comprehensive reports and dashboards that evaluate business effectiveness and impact.
• Use business data, statistical methods and/or suitable ML techniques to provide insight into business performance and suggest areas and methods of improving operations.
• Present insights and recommendations to management for conclusion making and strategic planning.
• Work with data analysts and business users in Global Operations to enable reports that maintain long-term value.

Qualifications

University Hiring Program Eligibility Requirements:

• University Enrollment: Must be currently enrolled in and returning to an accredited degree-seeking academic program in the Fall.
• Internship Work Period: Must be available to work full-time (approximately 40 hours per week) during a 10-12 week period starting May or June. Specific start dates are shared during the recruiting process.

Skills, Experience, Education, & Training:

• Current enrollment in a Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related degree-seeking program at the Bachelor’s or Master’s level
• Excellent SQL skills, ability to perform effective querying involving multiple tables and subqueries.
• Understanding of and experience using systematic concepts and statistical techniques; Practical knowledge of Machine Learning techniques and Big Data analysis and predictive analytics preferred
• Experience working with databases and creating dashboards using all relevant data to inform conclusions.
• Experience in Tableau, R/Shiny, Plotly or similar visualization tools
• Excellent problem solving, quantitative and deductive abilities.
• Curiosity with a desire for continuous improvement

The hourly rate is prorated against the intern program salaries listed and total program compensation will be based on internship duration.
