Data Centre Operations Engineer

Interactive Brokers (U.K.) Limited seeks a driven, self-starter Data Centre Operations Engineer to join their Global DC Ops team. This is an exciting role to be involved in the rollout of a brand new Data Centre in Slough! Please read on if you are hands-on and want to be involved in an exciting brand-new site.

Job Description & Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the construction and maintenance of our new London data centre. This will involve coordinating hardware installations, repairs, and shipments, as well as handling all other IT-related requests from our Network and Systems teams. The role may also require work to be done outside regular office hours, including evenings and weekends.

In addition to the Data Centre, the candidate will assist with local office moves and setups, manage all technical spaces and assist with IT-related requests as needed.

Additional responsibilities include:

• Enforcement and adherence to data centre standards
• Respond to emergency requests at the site
• Management of projects regarding construction/expansions
• Maintain Infrastructure documentation
• Asset Management certification
• Work in a corporate group to further develop group-wide standards

Qualification & Skills

• Significant experience in an IT network-related field.
• Experience running network cables and racking hardware.
• Bachelor’s degree in information systems or related field preferred.
• Strong organizational skills, as well as the ability to multitask.
• Familiarity with HPE, Arista, and Palo Alto is a plus.
