The Foundry Installation Engineer's primary responsibility is to safely drive the large scope of equipment they own which are at various stages of installation/demo on time to meet the factory needs. The Foundry Installation Engineer will partner project and construction managers during the construction phase of a project by performing inspection activities, quality assurance, providing technical guidance, and driving issue resolution to meet schedule timing. The Foundry Installation Engineer is responsible for ensuring all equipment needed is ordered and arrives when needed. The Foundry Installation Engineer will often encounter roadblocks and will need to utilize their creativity to overcome these challenges or quickly escalate to drive resolution. In many cases this will require negotiation with the construction, vendors, global supply chain, or senior management to resolve.

Responsibilities include the following but are not limited to:

  • Execution of a variety of Install/Qual projects, such as ramps, equipment demos, process transfers, tool layout, and approving layout changes.
  • Schedule ownership and management for the equipment the engineer owns. This includes partnering with other teams to ensure schedule is accurate and meets customer needs.
  • Design review quality, including ensuring accuracy in local site and reference packages.
  • Additionally, designs should be scrutinized for cost effectiveness. As an example, identifying opportunities to reuse materials or equipment is critical to driving cost leadership for equipment installations.
  • Tool forecasting, creating purchase requisitions, and tracking capital budget.
  • The Foundry Installation Engineer should be capable at understanding different configurations of equipment and will partner with process engineers to enable equipment installation to meet customer needs with minimal cost.
  • Program management and ensuring status of programs/projects are communicated and milestones are met.
  • The Foundry Installation Engineer must be a technical leader capable of influencing and collaborating with upstream and downstream customers, stakeholders in technology development, and partners in Corporate Services, Global Supply Chain etc.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of Semiconductor Foundry Equipment Installation experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Optics, Chemistry, or related field of study
  • 2+ years of equipment engineering related experience.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP certified.
  • Experience owning and managing complex schedules, 20+ plans in flight at once and durations greater than 1 year for entire project.
  • Experience of project schedule management techniques and methods like duration setting, milestone definition, constraint management, and interconnection logic.
  • Experience with on time equipment installation, new process startup activities, and knowledge of ramp process and equipment needs.
  • Schedule software experience: Primavera, MS Project, or related.
  • Prior semiconductor engineering experience in one or more factory modules including Thin Films, Lithography, Metrology, Etch, Implant, Diffusion, CMP, IQ
  • Experience with the operational assessments, working with external assessment teams, and developing and executing corrective action plans.
  • Experience strategizing, planning, developing, implementing, and managing process improvements.
  • Experience solving inter and intra organizational operational performance issues that includes the development of an execution/ implementation plan that covers the program/project from conception to completion.
