As an Engineering Intern at Instawork, you will be an integral member of our Client Platform team, building and maintaining the shared mobile & web frontend frameworks and design systems used by our entire Engineering org. Interns will receive mentorship to improve their software engineering skills and to learn how to maintain, extend, and craft frontend libraries for production applications. Each intern completes and presents a portfolio-worthy project at the end of the internship.

What You’ll Do:

  • Work as part of our Client Platform team to develop our React and React Native frameworks
  • Help other Engineering teams at Instawork adopt our latest design systems on web and mobile
  • Document and extend our open-source projects like Hyperview (hyperview.org)
  • Learn new skills through mentorship from senior engineers

Who You Are:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Completed courses in Software Engineering and CS fundamentals
  • Experience using React, React Native, HTML, and CSS to build robust and accessible frontend UIs. Experience with UX design and Figma is a plus
  • Able to work in San Francisco

For CA based applicants:

  • The monthly pay rate for this position is $6,000 - $7,500

A variety of factors are considered when determining someone’s compensation including a candidate’s professional background, experience, and location. Final offer amounts may vary from the amounts listed above.
