Senior IT Systems Engineer

About the Role

We are looking to add a Senior IT Systems Engineer to consolidate and standardize our overall IT architecture, build and adapt tools for process automation, implement integrations, and help us scale to the next level. The ITSE will function as an architect and technical lead for large corporate IT projects. This includes automation, IT cloud infrastructure, security, and employee lifecycle.

ABOUT THE JOB

• Partner with IT leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to scope, architect and implement holistic solutions that solve critical business challenges
• Identify and solve inefficient processes in areas like user lifecycle management, SaaS app provisioning, security, and licensing
• Create technical designs, stand up new services, then knowledge transfer with other members of IT who will be maintaining these services
• Build tools and services to empower IT, Security, and other partner teams
• Find the best, scalable technical solutions for the Instacart corporate environment to solve existing and future business problems
• Write code to create integrations between disparate cloud services using APIs
• Own and manage business critical cloud infrastructure and applications
• Work with Security and Compliance teams to support compliance efforts
• Participate in an on-call rotation

ABOUT YOU

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years of demonstrated experience and proficiency with at least one modern scripting language (Python preferred)
• 3+ years of experience interacting with SaaS/PaaS/IaaS APIs
• 3+ years of managing, developing integrations for, and building tools for Okta or a similar IdP
• 2+ years of managing and developing tooling for AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Strong written, oral communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated success automating things and designing for scale
• Experience in high-growth, fast-paced startup environments

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of managing fleets of devices or servers programmatically (eg open source configuration management tools like Puppet or Ansible, or commercial tools like Jamf or Intune)
• 2+ years of experience administering Azure AD, Active Directory, OpenLDAP, or a similar directory service
• 2+ years developing tooling for a VDI environment (eg, VMware, AWS Workspaces)
• Demonstrated experience with virtual networking in environments like AWS or GCP
• Demonstrated experience using infrastructure-as-code tooling (eg Terraform) to deploy servers/services
• Experience implementing low-code solutions via tools such as Okta Workflows or Workato
• Okta Certified Administrator or Developer certification
