Database Reliability Engineer I

Your Role

We at Innovaccer are looking for a Database Reliability Engineer-1 to build the most amazing product experience. You’ll get to work with other engineers to build delightful feature experiences to understand and solve our customer’s pain points

A Day in the Life

• Manage databases in a multi-cloud environment with end-to-end automation including administration, observability, troubleshooting, configuration changes, upgrades, and migrations
• Responsible for Provisioning, availability 24X7, reliability, performance, Security, maintenance, upgrades, and cost optimization
• Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages like Python.
• Experience with CI/CD systems (GitHub, build and deploy with Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible)
• Experience with one of the Databases (Snowflake, ElasticSearch, Mongo, Redis)
• Must be an expert in Linux operating systems and knowledgeable in Docker containerization
• Strong experience in Terraform
• Respond to and resolve database-related incidents and service requests in a timely manner.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools (New Relic, Data Dog, PagerDuty)
• Implement and maintain database security policies, roles, and access controls.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and data protection law  HIPAA related to data security and privacy.
• Capacity planning of large-scale database clusters
• Identify and tune the long-running queries to improve DB performance

What You Need

• Minimum of 2+ years of experience is required
• Work in a fast-paced environment with the agility to change directions as per business needs
• You should have hands-on experience with a start-up mentality in managing & troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems
• Hands-on experience in automated provisioning and deployment of database environments
• Demonstrated experience with multi-cloud environments like AWS, Azure and GCP
• Good to have knowledge/experience on ElasticSearch / Snowflake / MongoDB is a plus
• Should be proactive and have the intellect to explore and come up with ideas
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science
