Job Description

Position Overview

In this role you will perform deployment and application support for the INFICON Fusion Gas Chromatograph for Key Natural Gas and Petrochemical Customers in the Western US. Travel to customer sites for application support, installation, and occasionally to Upstate NY for Training. You will also provide deployment and application support for the Irwin Leak Detector in the Natural Gas Utility Market, and INFICON Residual Gas Analyzers within the General Vacuum Industries. Knowledge of Gas Chromatography and Natural Gas Market is preferred. 

Job Duties 

  • Develop proficiency in application of INFICON instruments, more specifically Micro Gas Chromatograph (GC) Mass Spec, and Irwin Methane Leak Detector.
  • Participate in installations, customer training, demonstrations. customer meetings, escalations, and new opportunity discussions.
  • Interface internally with Product & Account Management to communicate technical requirements and recommendations as parts of the solution development process where off the shelf solutions may not be an ideal fit.
  • Provide technical assistance within areas of specialty for customers, both remote and on site where necessary.
  • Provide written and oral feedback to product management on a regular basis in areas of: customer needs and satisfaction levels, industry technological and economic trends, new applications and product opportunities, product design features, competitive activity (product, pricing. etc.), and recommendations for and improvements to INFICON sales and technical literature
  • Document laboratory work and equipment evaluations of INFICON and competitor instruments
  • Develop and present presentations to customers regarding products and applications.

Lifestyle

  • Prefer candidate to be based in Western United States, but not required. 

  • This position requires travel. The requirements vary month to month, but the maximum expectation would be 50% of a month with typical requirements being closer to 30% or less. Some travel may be to local sites in and around the Western US area.

  • Outside of client travel and training, position can be 100% work from home.

Qualifications

Required Skills

  • Bachelors degree or higher in Chemistry, Engineering or related technical field 

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Knowledge of Gas Chromatography and related techniques 

  • Effective communication skills and comfortable presenting to groups

  • PowerPoint and presentation generation skills

  • Self-starter with strong self-management

  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and projects at the same time

Preferred Skills

  • Expert level in Gas Chromatography

  • Knowledge of Natural gas and Petroleum Industries

Additional Information

For New York, the expected salary range for this position is between $60,000 and $120,000 per year. In addition, INFICON employees are eligible for a profit sharing bonus with a target of 10%.  The actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law
