Description -

Applies advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and is regarded as a subject matter expert. Frequently contributes to the development of new ideas and methods. Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors. Leads and/or provides expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives. Acts as an expert providing direction and guidance to process improvements and establishing policies. Frequently represents the organization to external customers/clients. Exercises significant independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives. May provide mentoring and guidance to lower-level employees.

 As a member of the Quality Engineering team, you will be responsible to ensure new and existing products and services within the development cycle are reliable, easy to use, and functioning as documented.  Candidate must be detail-oriented, flexible, eager to learn, and committed to becoming an integral part of our support of the HP Personal Systems Application Software organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Executes both manual and automated testing of Windows Applications, including:
    • Creating automation tests using Selenium WebDriver with Java & TestNG for both UI and API layers.
    • Embedded feature testing working directly with developers.
  • Develops and manages high-quality test cases demonstrating conformance to all requirements.
  • Engages in product feature grooming, bug triage meetings, and Agile SCRUM activities like Daily Standups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.
    • Utilizes project management tools like JIRA and ADO for:
      • Understanding feature/User Story Acceptance Criteria to create accurate test cases.
      • Updating assigned Sprint tasks and communicating deliverable status or roadblocks to leadership.
    • Create feature test plan based on the understanding of the requirements and review with management and development team.
    • Communicates regularly with management, development teams, and stakeholders through:
      • Presentations on quality status, testing updates, and issue resolution.
      • Recommending and implementing changes to products and processes based on stakeholder feedback.
  • Manages and expands relationships with internal and outsourced development and quality assurance partners on software and firmware design and development.
  • Performs root cause analysis and creates specific action plans to reduce defects and improve product quality.
  • Work with cross-functional partners in R & D, Customer support, Marketing, and/or Design to identify and improve the solutions in the areas identified.
  • Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with quality assurance standards.
  • Drives innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities in the software quality assurance organization.
  • Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members.
  • Expertise in hybrid work environments (local and remote).

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
  • Typically 5-10 years of experience in software testing, test automation, and quality assurance.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Extensive experience with software quality assurance tools and processes.
  • Expert in automation tools and languages such as Appium, Java, Selenium, Python, or C# for automated test case development and CI/CD support.
  • Proficient in scripting using PowerShell, Batch.
  • Experienced in using project and bug management tools like JIRA and ADO.
  • Experienced in using TestRail or ADO for test case management.
  • Expertise in overall architecture and software design for products running on multiple platform types.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Mastery in English and local language communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate product architectures and negotiate options at senior management levels.
  • Proficiency in Agile methodologies and understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
  • Cross-region communication.

Preferred:

  • Background in PC gaming is a plus, providing insight into user requirements and experiences.
