Data Scientist – Expert Level

Applies advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and is regarded as a subject matter expert. Frequently contributes to the development of new ideas and methods. Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors. Leads and/or provides expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Develop analytics solutions to support audit team in risk assessment, field work & investigations
• Using statistical inferences or algorithms to predict potential fraudulent behaviour or non-compliant transactions
• Depict outliers, anomalies, or risk models through data visualization tools
• Proactively connect with stakeholders to solicit risk inputs and articulate the feasibility of developing the solution
• Identify opportunities for generating efficiency & business impact through automation/data analytics
• Engaged in strategic finance initiatives/projects/programs
• Identify potential fraud risk in business processes, develop risk monitoring capabilities to provide greater assurance to management
• Influence/drive change amongst audit community in adoption of CCM/Risk models
• Support junior analysts in ideating innovative solutions

Education and Experience Required:

• Bachelor of Engineering/Master in Computer Application/Master in Statistics with 10+ years of experience.
• At least 7+ years’ experience in data analytics function
• Experience in Audit/Risk & Compliance domain would be plus

Knowledge and Skills required:

• Proven experience in working with multiple technologies such as Python, R or SQL Database
• Experience using big data analytics solutions like Databricks would be an advantage
• Experience in building models leveraging AI tools like ChatGpt, MS-Copilot would be a Big Plus
• Exposure to financial/operational analysis
• Demonstrating flexibility and the ability to adapt to change
• Excellent communication and ability to influence leadership team
• Strong interpersonal skills with a capability to work across diverse teams virtually
