Job Summary

The Print software organization has grown significantly, and we need to evolve the way we work to keep up. 

The Print software Platform Data Principal will be responsible for designing, developing, and managing activities for the Print Data platform specifically around the Data lifecycle, Data Requirements & Definition, Data Quality, Data Storage and Retention keeping in mind availability, performance, privacy, security & cost. In addition the Data Principal will be responsible for supporting customer facing HP Product and solutions and their vast number of use cases. The Data Principal makes data-driven decision and collaborates with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Architects, Product Managers to drive the data as a differentiator to Print/HP.
Responsibilities:

• Lead on the design for Data, focusing on scalability, performance, availability, cost and Data Quality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build a scalable, secure and reliable Print Data platform.
• Works closely with stakeholders to understand needs and priorities.
• Roadmap – own data platform roadmap and manages the backlog through constant prioritization. Manage product management requirements coming from various business units and cross functional teams.
• Translates stakeholder needs into product requirements and definitions.
• Collaborates with stakeholders to guide feature development and prioritization.
• Translates user requirements into executable and workable feature items with the software engineering team.
• Acts as an advocate for the stakeholders during specification and development stages.
• Manage product lifecycle of functionalities on the Print Software data platform

• Responsible for all stages of design and development for complex products and platforms, including solution design, analysis, coding, testing, and integration. Exercises independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution. Ability to handle most unique situations.

   

Knowledge & Skills

• Data Engineering knowledge with ETL platforms understanding.
• Understanding of Print Data Formats would be an added advantage
• Strong technical knowledge of software platform systems, including enterprise, middleware, firmware, and embedded systems.
• Adept at collecting and analyzing input from multiple sources (internal customers, product managers, engineering, architecture, and management).
• Significant experience in software development, systems engineering, or software platfrom product management.
• Ability to understand and deal well with rapid development cycles and remain flexible in the face of uncertainty.
• Ability to not only communicate in software engineering specific jargon and non-technical language but also translate between the two.

Scope & Impact

• Decisions and actions typically impact multiple departments and may have downstream repercussions lasting multiple weeks.
• Advises various internal, partner, and customer teams on the needs and requirements of target markets.
• Works closely with architects and technology leads, directly engaging with internal and external software development teams.

• Moderate: Some senior management interface; frequent cross-functional/cross-organizational interaction on execution of tactics.
• Applies developed subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business issues within established guidelines and recommends appropriate alternatives. Works on problems of diverse complexity and scope. May act as a team or project
• Leader providing direction to team activities and facilitates information validation and team decision making process. Exercises independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in relevant area or demonstrated competence. Typically 6-8  years of relevant software product management experience.
