What you’ll do:

• Create maintainable, scalable, and repeatable processes for deploying code to production
• Maintain internal solutions that support the build and release processes
• Have active involvement in design, implementation, and maintenance of the development, staging, and production infrastructure.
• Continuously improve the simplicity, reliability, and security of our systems
• Participate in weekly on-call rotation (shared with development teams)
• Help ensure the stability and uptime of services within the organization.
• Create concise post-mortems in the event of an outage.
• Write and maintain run-books for other engineers to leverage.
• Keep up to date with current DevOps best practices

** This role will be fully remote** 

Skills and Experience

• 2-5+ years of professional systems or infrastructure engineering
• 1-3+ years managing cloud infrastructure
• 1-2+ years PostgreSQL or MySQL administration
• Fluent in at least one Infrastructure As Code framework (Terraform, Cloudformation, etc)
• Demonstrated ability to think of elegant, simple solutions to complex problems
• Experience working with product managers, engineers, and QA
• Comfortable writing documentation for system setup and administration

Nice to have:

• Experience with Ruby on Rails
• Experience with the Go programming language
• Experience with Terraform
• Experience with AWS
• Experience with Memcached and Redis
• Experience with managing a Node.js monorepo

HopSkipDrive is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role in Los Angeles, CA is $145,000 to $160,000. This position is remote and, as such, compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Final compensation for this role will be determined by several factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skill set, certifications, and specific work location. The total compensation package for this role also includes equity stock options.
