WCS Technical Systems Engineer

About The Team:

The mission of this role is to provide 1st level support for all of our fulfillment systems (WMS,WCS, etc.) at our production site in Derby called the Windmill. You are part of a new warehouse software implementation team, working cross functionally with your stakeholders to ensure warehouse operation procedures by being the first point of contact for production on all system inquiries.

What You Will Be Doing:

•  You provide live support for our WCS (Warehouse Control System) & WMS (Warehouse Management System)
•  Specification and delivery of local reporting requirements.
•  Identify and recommend change controls to support operational enhancements and fixes
•  You set up dashboards to support system analysis and system monitoring
•  You identify and resolve technical issues in above systems as they occur
•  You continuously review software systems and initiate and implement improvements through enhancements and/or change requests
•  Local user training and administration of associated documentation.
•  You determine resolution paths for critical issues with suppliers and internal development teams
•  You create work instructions, standard operating procedures, training materials for WMS & WCS, and ensure comprehensive reporting is in place

Who You Are:

•       You have good experience with WCS/WMS driven production environments
•       You have successfully completed a University degree, preferably in Computer Science, Business Informatics or Engineering or having similar work experience
•       You provide live support for our WCS (Warehouse Control System) & WMS (Warehouse Management System)
•       Shown understanding of Supply Chain processes and technology.
•       You have a good knowledge of SQL, are data-driven and adept at creating analyses & reports
•       Implement / manage strategic WMS/WCS related changes
•       You set up dashboards to support system analysis and system monitoring
•       You identify and resolve technical issues in above systems as they occur
•       You continuously review software systems and initiate and implement improvements through enhancements and/or change requests
•       You determine resolution paths for critical issues with suppliers and internal development teams
•       You create work instructions, standard operating procedures, training materials for WMS & WCS, and ensure comprehensive reporting is in place
•       You have a great interest in operational processes and their continual improvement
•       You work independently, structured and conscientiously
•       You think in terms of business and are data and process-driven in your work
•       You convince with professionalism and conscientiousness in your dealings with stakeholders
•       You are highly organized and always have an eye on deadlines
•       You are number-driven and have a very good analytical understanding

Location: The Windmill, 1 Holme Lane, Spondon, Derby, DE21 7HW

Work Schedule: 40 hour working week shift patterns including some weekends that are Days and Back Shift
