We are looking for a Senior Python Engineer (internally this position is called: Senior Data Engineer) for our ambitious, fast growing team in Amsterdam. Working in the Data Engineering team you take a leading role in building our team’s long term success. 

As a Senior Python Engineer you will be the primary technical point of contact for a significant part of our tooling landscape and Engineering team. Together with our Data Product Manager and Engineering Team Lead, you will be leading a small team that is responsible for developing your tools to our landscape vision, as well as adherence to our target architecture and organizational standards. 

The bulk of these tools are critical to our day to day operations, within our supply chain and route planning landscape in particular. A highlight of the projects our tools contributed to over the past year:

• Launching multiple new brands
• Introduce our HelloFresh Market and expand to 300 items
• Increase our menu size from 25 to 50 unique recipes per week
• Launching our French market
• Rebuilding of our Ordering process
• Optimisation of our Distribution Centre planning
• Significantly improving our technical and structural setup
• Collaborate with our global tech teams, introducing querying engine, storage solutions and orchestration

🥑 This is how you’ll make an impact

• Take charge of a small team and work with them on challenging projects
• Provide reliable and scalable tech solutions to the business by using the latest technologies
• Support your Data Product Manager and Team Lead in building towards our long term tooling landscape
• Improve our technical architecture with your knowledge and concepts

🍉 These are the ingredients you’ll bring to the team

• You have 6-9 years of experience in a software or data engineering role
• Excellent conceptual understanding of technical architecture
• Great skills with Python, from Data Engineering to Software Engineering, including automated testing and building APIs
• Experience working Azure/AWS, Airflow, Kafka and Kubernetes or equivalent
• Several years of experience using agile methodologies, preferably Scrum
• Ambition to grow into a team lead role
• Excellent SQL skills and knowledge of Relational Database design
• Good communication skills and able to coach less experienced team members
• Fluent in English
