Network Infrastructure Engineer (Hybrid)

 

As a key member of our IT Network Infrastructure team, you'll play a vital role in supporting the network infrastructure of our US fulfillment centers in the Chicago area. Whether you're swiftly addressing incidents, setting up networks in new locations, or proactively enhancing our platform, you'll lead the charge in delivering essential IT network services to fuel our dynamic growth. Flexibility to assist other teams or departments as business needs evolve is integral to this role.

You will…

• Collaborate with our network infrastructure team to establish a unified enterprise network environment, ensuring seamless operations across Chicago Area locations.
• Travel to install, maintain, and upgrade hardware/software, managing projects and vendors for timely completion.
• Implement and maintain change management processes, delivering exceptional customer service with rapid response times.
• Provide on-site and remote resolution of hardware/software issues, while meticulously documenting processes.
• Participate in after-hours support for incident escalations, conducting root cause analysis, and system outage remediation.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation on network configurations and operating procedures for both end-users and IT staff.

 

You are…

 

• Adaptable: Excel in configuring, installing, troubleshooting, and supporting network equipment, including wireless access points and firewalls.
• Responsive: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with meticulous documentation 
• Innovative: Strong ability to design and implement network security measures and best practices, with strong analytical and problem solving skills for managing complex projects
• Flexible: Early mornings or late nights for critical network changes are no issue, thriving in fast-paced environments with tight timelines.
• Resilient: Tackle the physical demands effortlessly, whether it's working in cold or hot temperatures, elevated areas, or crawl spaces within a warehouse setting.

 

You have…

 

• 4+ years in enterprise (multisite) network installation and systems management, including IP routing and switching in complex enterprise environments.
• Demonstrated experience with firewall configurations (Firepower, Palo Alto, Sonicwall, Fortinet), especially with multiple WANs and redundant IPSEC tunnels.
• Proficiency in Wireless LAN design, troubleshooting tools, and methodologies.
• Experience managing and optimizing SD-WAN environments.
• Familiarity with low voltage cabling (LVC), structured cabling systems, and fiber optics.
• Proficiency in Python scripting or other programming languages for network automation and management.
• Preferred: VMware administration and/or current network certifications (CCNA, CCNP).
  
  

Other Requirements:

• Participation in primary and secondary on-call rotations.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time between all locations (weekends at home)
