Your Impact.

We are looking for a Android Engineer with a deep desire to learn and develop software that improves people’s lives. If you’re passionate about developing the best product possible and collaborating with other developers to do so, then we want to hear from you!

You will join our team of engineers to deliver new products and services to our members while improving existing ones. The Android Engineer will collaborate closely with product management, design, and business team to understand product ideas and business needs and deliver solutions iteratively to our members. 

You will play a key role in building next generation solutions improving our members lives with a company hyper-focused on removing the ambiguity from being healthy and well.

  • Identify areas for improvement and innovation by investigating emerging technologies and/or best practices
  • Lead the charge to implement changes and play key mentorship roles to educate the team
  • Ownership of the codebase, maintenance and ensuring that it runs consistently
  • Securing and safeguarding HealthJoy’s member data on mobile platforms to preserve its integrity, reliability and availability while ensuring appropriate permissions are maintained

Your experience.

  • 5+ years of experience as an Android Engineer across multiple environments 
  • Solid hands on experience in the following languages / tools / environments:
  • Android application architecture, design and development.
  • Kotlin, SQL
  • Mobile application development tools and environments (Android Studio, Gradle, Firebase)
  • Knowledge & experience in Web Services (XML, JSON, WCF)
  • Asynchronous programming and networking protocols.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Expert understanding of Agile Software Development frameworks.
  • Team-player that is positive, proactive and a motivated self-starter.
  • Knowledge and experience with build and release management.
  • Experience in quality assurance processes / tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrates mentorship and relationship building skills
  • Excellent time management skills

Total Rewards 

Job Level: 20
Base Compensation Range for Job Level: $80,000 - $120,000 Annually 

The cash compensation above includes base salary only. Certain roles are eligible for additional cash incentives such as commission, annual bonus targets, overtime pay or other variable incentives.

This strategy is based on several factors unique to each individual, including: 1) the skills, experience and qualifications of the individual; 2) the responsibilities and demands of the role; 3) analysis of external market data; and 4) company budget and financial performance. 

HealthJoy is a remote-first employer. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. 

At HealthJoy, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each role and individual.
