THE OPPORTUNITY

We are hiring a Mid-level Back-end Software Engineer for our Marketing Engineering Platform (MEP) team in Brazil or Portugal. Our team is in charge of the public Gympass websites and work closely together with Marketing teams to scale data insights and automation through technology.

We divide the MEP team internally in 2 Product Domains and the Marketing Analytics & Integration squad is in charge of providing platform and integration by combining marketing and product data from different sources to create a unified and consistent view. Being able to assemble separate marketing pieces acting as enablers to fulfill marketing areas to work with personalized pipelines.

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve services focusing on performance, scalability, and resilience;
  • Support existing systems looking to enhance functionality, increase scale, and transform in new ways to meet our product demands;

  • Work with cutting-edge technologies and edge cases on a global scale.

WHO YOU ARE

  • Experience working with modern agile product development teams of engineers, product managers, and designers;
  • Data driven person, who asks for data to support product decisions before blindly implementing things, you try to simplify the scope of  what you are developing constantly.
  • Solid experience with at least two programming languages such as Java, Scala, Python, Ruby, Javascript or Golang (the team uses Golang as the main language);
  • Experience with SQL/NoSQL technology such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB understanding common use cases and performance pitfalls;
  • Ability to deal with event-driven architectures and message brokers such as RabbitMQ, KAFKA, ActiveMQ, etc and a in depth understanding of their use cases and pitfalls;
  • Able to work in a Cloud-based architectures (AWS / GCP);
  • Versed in concepts such as DDD, SOLID, Design Patterns distributed systems and architecture.
  • Capable of understanding pitfalls and anticipating common failure modes of a microservices environment;
    Has knowledge on how to implement prototypes and in practices and concepts such as MVP, A/B testing and feature toggles for rolling-out features to production;
  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent professional experience;
  • Able to communicate effectively with technical and non technical stakeholders in English;
