THE OPPORTUNITY

We are hiring a Mid-level Frontend Software Engineer for our Digital Operation Technology Systems (Dots) team in Brazil or Portugal!

At DOTS, we are developing scalable solutions that make Gympassers more productive, assuring user-friendly, data-driven, and confident products, for efficient and measurable work in the business areas. We divide the DOTS PD team internally into 4 Product Domains responsible for changing the company vision into an experience-centric one using different approaches. You will help us to build products in one of these domains, named by us Self Support. This team is responsible for planning, building, and maintaining products that help external customers to solve their issues with Gympass products by themselves through a chatbot plugged into our Conversational Support Channels like Web Chat, WhatsApp, and other Social Media inboxes.

YOUR IMPACT

  • Participate in the development of some of the most critical and challenging services in our ecosystem, seeking to build long-term and sustainable solutions
  • Consistently follow best practices and able to stand up for technical decisions in code review and design feedback;
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of all pieces and bits of the projects you are part of;
  • Detect requirements problems and proactively seek for a solutions with the tech lead and product manager;
  • Deal with interruptions and set a clear goal for the project and task at hand;
  • Work in a collaborative and agile environment that prioritizes people over process and is laser-focused on productivity;
  • Provide useful and relevant feedback on code and design reviews - always on time;
  • Communicate technical decisions through design documents, RFCs, and meetings;
  • Understand business rules and architecture of a few modules that work with;
  • Write effective and comprehensive design documents, predicting failure cases;
  • Help with hiring new talents by interviewing, providing referrals, and onboarding;
  • Consistently consider and analyze different approaches and trade-offs to solve problems by having the right balance between risk and ambition;

WHO YOU ARE

  • An engineer with a bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent professional experience;
  • Familiar with frontend stacks like Javascript Vanilla, HTML5, and CSS;
  • Able to develop and deploy project-level solutions with minimum supervision;
  • Seek to have the highest quality in your products, considering user experience as well as systems' cost, maintainability, availability, and resilience;
  • Work collaboratively;
  • Value facts and data when you make decisions
  • Show empathy and respect for others;
  • Can balance well your responsibilities and your well-being;
  • Have a passion for product development;
  • Experience with designing and developing complex modern services applications;
  • Experience in developing APIs RESTful web services;
  • Ability to apply computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithm design, problem-solving, async programming, and complexity analysis;
  • Deep understanding of automated testing;
  • An engineer with intermediate or advanced proficiency in English.
