The Staff Engineer (Silane Operations) will join the engineering team tasked with the design, construction, and operations of the world’s largest production facility of next generation lithium silicon anode materials. This is largely an advisory role dedicated to supporting our team in all matters related to manufacturing with silane and hydrogen. Beyond advisory support, multiple large projects are in development that will require more focused support from this role, namely development of silane and hydrogen recycle systems and optimization of commercial silane vapor infiltration processes.


WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:


-Serve as our subject matter expert for silane and hydrogen operations and use.

-Develop and design optimized plant configurations for current and future BAM modules.

-Develop silane recycle system for two purposes a) Recovery of silane b) purification of hydrogen for return to silane manufacturing.

-Advise R&D staff in development of complex laboratory and pilot-scale process experimentation and tech-transfer to commercial operations.

-Advise plant engineering and operations teams in all aspects of manufacturing with silane and hydrogen gasses.

-Design and development of new battery materials and their manufacturing processes.

-Routinely interact with executive staff regarding silane supply chain strategy.


WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:


-Masters or Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

-MUST HAVE industrial engineering experience with silane and hydrogen gases.

-Experience in materials production and/or chemical processing (preferred).

-Experience in capital project management.

-Experience with thermal processing equipment.

-Experience with bulk powders processing.

-Excellent communication skills.

-Demonstrated organizational skills.


OTHER QUALITIES WE’D LOVE FOR YOU TO HAVE:


-Industrial experience in chemical processing (+20 years).

-Prior experience at both large and start-up companies.

-Experience in PSM covered facilities.

The base pay range for this role is $150,000 to $200,000. Actual pay depends on various factors, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills.
