Description

Join our team as Director of Software Engineering and build a new software product that enables buildings to take the next step in sustainability. Our software solution builds upon our high efficiency heat pump platform and will enable saving energy through intelligent heating and cooling, will reduce the total cost of ownership of HVAC with fleet performance dashboards, predictive maintenance and data driven troubleshooting, and will support the grid with dynamic energy controls.

Responsibilities: 

  • Software leader that enjoys developing a business model and product vision together with the product management team
  • Manage and grow the software team to match our product aspirations
  • Architectural oversight for a highly scalable IoT software system
  • Be willing to get deep into portions of the full stack development, especially until the team grows
  • External partner management for mobile app software development
  • Manage relationships and integrations with 3rd party systems like demand response and building automation
  • Ensure Best Practices continue to improve to ensure quality, maintainability, security, scalability and uptime

Desired Qualifications

  • Mission driven individual motivated by Gradient’s climate forward solutions
  • 10+ years of experience in Software Engineering and managing teams in a variety of company sizes
  • This role is based at our San Francisco office and onsite 2-3 days per week
  • History of being a collaborative team player and results oriented problem solver
  • Track record developing quality production software for Enterprise or B2B customers
  • Experience with modern IoT systems, Fleet management or Device Management
  • Experience with predictive analytics and associated ML integrations
  • Experience with Go, Python, React, Flutter
  • Experience with AWS services such as IoT Core, Redshift, MySql, Airflow, Superset
