Lead Systems Engineer, Model Based Design

GEM Technologies, Inc. (GEM) is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer with Model Based Design experience to join our team. This position is full-time and will support the Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory in Pittsburgh, PA in a hybrid capacity. 

• Drive the implementation of a digital engineering enterprise across our business.
• Collaborate with key NNPP organizations (e.g., key stakeholders from shipyards, vendors, etc) across many domains of work to drive the execution of the first of a kind Digital Enterprise implementation plan and that supports high level NNPP bold initiatives. 

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering and 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Broad knowledge/experience of work and engineering tools related to a digital transformation for a similar size organization.
• More than 8 years of experience in model-based systems engineering and digital engineering.
• Able to create virtual representations of physical systems (models).
• Knowledge/experience with data management strategies and technologies.
• Demonstration of strong teaming and collaboration skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in Model Based Design.

• To be considered, you must be able to obtain and maintain a government issued clearance, if needed.
• Due to the federal nature of the work, a U.S. Citizenship is required.

• Demonstrated can-do attitude and a desire to learn new things.
• Experience with enterprise-wide implementation of new technology solutions.
• Demonstrated familiarity with Agile processes and execution.
• Experience using Product Lifecycle Management tools, such as PTC Windchill.
• Experience using CAD tools, in partiular PTC Creo.
• Some knowledge or experience in IT systems.

Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory, located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is part of the Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) which provides broad support for the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program in the design, development, improvement, maintenance, training for operation of naval nuclear propulsion plants, and ultimate disposition of the plants (energy.gov).
