Technical Program Manager, Software

About the role:

We are looking for a Technical Program Manager to coordinate and collaborate with our engineering teams to execute complex software and hardware projects and execute workstreams using agile methodologies. In this position, you will implement best practices and leverage your significant collaboration skills as you work with subject matter experts within the engineering team to execute our autonomy roadmap.

This role will be working onsite at least four days a week from our Mountain View headquarters!

What you will do:

• Work with engineers to prioritize technical roadmaps for key system features, track work, and deliver functionality
• Set priorities and coordinate between internal engineering teams and stakeholders to support development from concept through launch
• Manage the team’s scope, schedule, and dependencies
• Coordinate release content and efforts with multiple program managers and engineering leads who own individual components
• Understand technical implementation plan, and manage priorities. Communicate with engineering leadership to direct the effort and resources in an agile manner
• Coordinate and execute frequent test events involving various levels of software and hardware, from full software simulations to full hardware-in-the-loop demonstrations at test sites
• Maintain a strong technical understanding of our vehicle platforms, software lifecycle, safety clearance process, and test operations

What we’re looking for:

• BS or MS degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience
• 5 years of industry experience with technical subjects and emerging technologies
• Experience with new product introduction, software releases at scale and program managing research teams
• Previous experience as a software engineer, software QA, or systems engineer
• Expertise in project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Confluence, and JIRA
• Proficiency in common workplace software: Word, spreadsheet, presentation software, etc
• Uncanny resilience to adapt to fluid targets and approaching challenges with a ‘solutions-first’ and abundance mindset
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, able to handle multiple deadlines, projects, and stakeholders concurrently
