Flow Traders is looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our growing Trading Operations Development team in Amsterdam. As a member of TO Dev team, you will work within our technology landscape on creating direct impact for our core business through the development of applications that enhances data frameworks, streamline workflows, facilitate efficiency, and unlock growth prospects. In this role, you will be responsible for developing applications, services, and pipelines that deliver value through automation. Your actions will directly contribute to the performance of the company. You will also get the opportunity to interact and work closely with different departments to gain a well-rounded knowledge of trading landscape, how they function and integrate within our ecosystem.
Some of the technologies we use and would like you to have experience with:
- Languages: Python (for most of our day-to-day development), Golang, Bash
- Build systems: make, go build, Bamboo
- Version control: Git
- Testing frameworks: Pytest, Unittest, Std lib test framework (testing) for Golang
- Deployment: Terraform, Helm, Ansible
- Container technologies: Docker, Docker-compose, Kubernetes
- ETL/Jobs pipeline: Airflow
What you will do
- Design, develop and deploy API services, ETL pipelines and other software solutions used by various Trading units
- Streamline business processes by identifying in-efficiencies and automating them
- Regularly maintain products offered by the team (to keep them up to standards)
- Perform operational support for the products and services delivered by the team
What you need to succeed
- University degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or other quantitative fields
- Expertise in Python (proficiency in Golang is advantageous)
- Proficiency in Docker, Kubernetes (knowledge of Kafka is advantageous)
- Good knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems
- Strong sense of teamwork and keen eagerness to acquire new skills
- Ability to write clean and well-structured code
- Demonstrable interest in financial markets is a plus
- An entrepreneurial mindset that thrives on creative problem solving
- Good stakeholder management skills
