What does a successful Application Support Professional do at Fiserv?

Software Development Engineer will work closely with SCRUM Masters and Product owners to understand the requirements clearly and develop the features of a product of our Acquiring Business. This exciting role sits at the core of the Application team in enhancing and maintaining our product. This role can also be involved in Support and project work.

What you will do:

• Develop and implement Oracle database solutions, including PL/SQL scripts, stored procedures, functions, and packages. 
• Collaborate with other developers, business analysts, and project managers to understand requirements and deliver solutions. 
• Analyze and manipulate data to support building new reports and modify existing reports. 
• Analyze PL/SQL code and perform bug-fixing.
• Analyze and optimize database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions. 
• Maintaining detailed records of issues, resolutions, and troubleshooting procedures. 
• Identifying the underlying causes of issues to prevent recurrence
• Ensuring the smooth functioning of the application by installing updates, patches, and configuration changes. 
• Configuration changes to support batch processing
• Contributing to the development and maintenance of a knowledge base for issue resolution and troubleshooting.

What you will need to have:

•  Strong proficiency in writing PL/SQL code, including stored procedures, functions, and packages for a minimum of 2 years.
• Handson of UNIX shell scripting, Linux, Windows, and Microsoft Office applications
• Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills (English) and Quality focused.
• Advanced problem-solving skills, proven ability to think logically and effective time management.
• Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines, with a drive and commitment to delivery.
• Degree or equivalent in a Technology related discipline

What would be great to have:

• DevOps tools, Control-M, TOAD/SQL plus
• Previous experience in credit card/payments/merchant acquiring industry.
• Understanding of SDLC
• Knowledge in core JAVA, Spring Boot and Python. Exposure to KAFKA and API is an added advantage.
• Understanding of Gen AI
• Ability to support Automation.
