What does a successful Senior Oracle PL/SQL Developer do?

Are you an experienced Oracle PL/SQL developer with a passion for understanding complex systems and influencing the evolving payments industry? Join us in building world-class Acquirer solutions for our Global clients, leveraging large scale Oracle databases at the core. As part of our engineering modernization efforts, you will drive backend application database design, development, and implementation, contributing to a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

What you will do:

• Drive backend application database design, development, and implementation.
• Convert functional specifications into application solutions.
• Deliver technical specifications in line with design standards, detailing accurate technical solutions.
• Ensure assignments meet agreed quality standards and industry best practices.
• Drive Agile development process improvement, providing constant feedback to the team(s).
• Work to remove engineering challenges and introduce new technologies and mindset for efficient team operation.
• Deliver good quality code with a strong focus on CI/CD, DevOps, Automation, and APIs.
• Participate in determining standards and best practices around code development.

What you will need to have:

• Demonstrated experience and passion for developing scalable solutions in a complex business domain.
• 6-10 years of PL/SQL & Oracle Programming experience.
• Excellent working knowledge in database design and modeling.
• Advanced SQL coding and performance tuning skills.
• Experience in Data Warehousing, ETL processes, and reporting solutions.
• Proficiency in scripting languages.
• Familiarity with tools and frameworks such as Control-M, Jenkins, GitLab, JIRA, SonarQube, TDD/BDD, Kafka.
• Proactive, self-motivated, confident individual with good organizational and communication skills.

We would also like you to have:

• Understanding of Data Analytics best practices.
• Ability to engage with global peers and a growth mindset (eager to learn).
• Previous experience in credit card/payments/merchant acquiring or core banking.
