About the Role:

The Director Cloud Data Platform Architect will have the drive and expertise to design and build large scale complex applications for our cloud data platform. This role involves building high-traffic, data-intensive applications that are crucial for our daily operations.

What you will be doing:

As a key member of our team, you will be developing large-scale systems on AWS, utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines to deliver secure and scalable solutions.

• Experience in of containerization technologies and orchestrators like AWS EKS will be fundamental in enhancing our systems' performance and reliability.

• Set the architectural best practices and build repeatable patterns and pipelines for our engineering teams.

• Well versed with programming languages such as Python or Go and bring your experience with configuration management tools to ensure the robustness and efficiency of our services.

• Problem-solving challenges, drawing from your extensive experience to maintain the high availability of our systems and ensure our infrastructure's security and compliance.

What you bring:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or the equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience.

• Multiple years of experience designing, operating, and supporting large-scale systems on AWS.

• Proficiency in leveraging Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.

• Extensive experience building and optimizing CI/CD pipelines, preferably with Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline.

• Experience with containerization technologies and container orchestrators like Docker, Kubernetes, or AWS EKS.

• Knowledge of observability tools (like Prometheus, Grafana, New Relic, ELK stack, etc.) and monitoring best practices.

• Experience operating infrastructure at scale with high-traffic web applications or big data applications.

• Familiarity with microservice-based application architectures.

• Strong knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, VPC, EKS, Lambda, and CloudWatch.

• Knowledge of programming languages like Python or Go.

• Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Packer, Vault, or Consul.

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or equivalent is highly preferred.

• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems issues.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
