Job Title - Lead - Systems Engineering

The Purpose the Role

As a Lead Systems Engineer on the Systems engineering team, you’ll get the opportunity to develop your skills and collaborate with engineers across Fidelity in a fun and dynamic environment. You will work closely with engineering teams to deploy applications in production and Business teams to coordinate incident response. You will also work with enterprise infrastructure teams to maintain and support on-prem non-production and production infrastructure.

The Value You Deliver

• Provide daily operational support for the FDA applications and related systems.

• Lead and drive the incident bridges to mitigate and fix the production issues.

• Respond to user inquiries regarding application-related problems.

• Participate in initiatives like upgrading or patching on-prem infrastructure, installing application changes etc.

• Document operational procedures and share knowledge with the rest of the systems engineering teams.

The Skills that are Key to this role

Technical / Behavioral

• Experience deploying applications on-prem and cloud infrastructure.

• Plan and coordinate upgrades and patches for on-prem infrastructure.

• Seek out opportunities to develop and improve existing automation processes.

• Experience creating and maintaining non-production and production environments on Windows/Linux.

• Understanding of networking infrastructure and protocols, is a plus.

• Experience with logging and monitoring systems such as Datadog, Splunk.

• Experience writing Python, Groovy, and shell scripts.

• Coordinate timely resolution of problem tickets, incident tickets and Security findings with engineering teams.

• Support on-call duties, including weekends.

• Passionate and committed to learning new things.

• Solid analytical and communication skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks at any given time.

• Strong organization skills and attention to details.

• Experience working with cross-functional teams in fast paced environment.

• Ability to work well independently and within a team setting.

• Understanding of common security transmission/communication protocols (i.e., TLS, SSH, etc.)

The Skills that are Good to Have for this role

• Experience with trading order management and FIX protocol

• Expertise in developing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins Core, is a plus.

• Exposure to blockchain & digital assets

Within Fidelity Digital Assets, the Systems engineering team is responsible for infrastructure solutions, automation, application deployments and production support.

The Expertise we’re looking for.

• 4 to 6 years of systems and application support experience

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software engineering or related field

Location: Bangalore - EGL

Shift Timings: Two Shifts, Starting from 6AM to 8PM IST.
