Fastly is looking for an experienced and driven Financial Systems leader to join the Business Systems team.  This Senior Director role will be crucial in driving the strategic plan, management, and optimization of our Financial platforms.  The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in financial business systems, cross-functional business processes, strong leadership skills with the ability to influence decision-making, and a track record of driving successful transformation at scale to deliver measurable business results.

What You'll Do:

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy aligned with Fastly business objectives, ensuring the Financial tools support and enhance our order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, planning, and other critical processes
  • Effective Communication: Provide standardized intake process, complete transparency for prioritization, execution, and implementation.  Lead collaboration with stakeholders for resource and initiative planning, including a quarterly roadmap of anticipated deliveries
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of managers, analysts, developers, and administrators, providing guidance and support to ensure their success. Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment focused on delivering outstanding results
  • System & Process Optimization: Collaborating with the Finance and Accounting teams, continuously evaluate and optimize to improve overall effectiveness, streamline processes, and enhance user experience. Identify areas for automation, data quality improvement, and integration to maximize efficiency and productivity of stakeholders
  • Cross Functional Collaboration:  Establish strong partnerships with leaders and cross functional teams to help drive successful implementations.  Be a strong voice proactively offering recommendations based on best practices and your own experience
  • Stay Up-to-date: Stay current with platform capabilities and best practices. Continuously expand your knowledge and expertise through training, networking, and industry events
  • Vendor Management: Collaborate with internal operations teams and third-party vendors to effectively manage contracts, licenses, and relationships.  Ensure any new technology fits into the overall business infrastructure strategy and architecture.  Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices to drive optimal value and access to capabilities
  • Be an evangelist for a culture of data-driven decision-making for the company

What We're Looking For: 

  • 10+ years of experience developing and successfully executing strategies for financial Business Systems in a high-growth B2B business
  • 5+ years as a people manager and experience cultivating diverse and inclusive high performance teams
  • In-depth knowledge of NetSuite architecture, data model, and platform capabilities along with a solid working knowledge with Procure to Pay tools, ratings/billing engines, planning tools, and other relevant platforms
  • A deep understanding of the order-to-cash processes in a B2B subscription and usage-based business model
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and build relationships with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Strong ability to influence others to drive the best possible outcomes
  • Experience working with multiple executive-level business partners
  • Experience with audit/SOX requirements and workflows for a publicly-traded company
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously, focusing on the highest value delivery
  • A results-oriented mindset with a track record of delivering successful outcomes

Work Hours:

  • This position will require you to be available during core business hours.

Fastly currently embraces a largely hybrid model for most roles which allows employees flexibility to split their time between the office and home. 

Salary: 

The estimated salary range for this position is $205,450 to $285,350. 

Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location.

This role may be eligible to participate in Fastly’s equity and discretionary bonus programs.
