FanDuel is looking for a Platform Security Engineering Manager to join our growing Security team. In this role, you will be responsible for safeguarding the integrity, stability, and scalability of our platforms while ensuring secure development practices. Your leadership will be critical in creating a secure foundation for delivering innovative products that delight our fans.
THE GAME PLAN
Everyone on our team has a part to play
- Define and execute a platform security vision aligned with FanDuel’s goals, advocating for best practices across engineering, product, and operations teams.
- Manage the development of proactive and reactive guardrails to protect cloud and platform environments.
- Oversee Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) and tools to enhance overall cloud and platform security.
- Oversee OS & Container Vulnerability management tools & processes to ensure our platform’s security and compliance.
- Collaborate to modernize platforms by addressing technical debt, including outdated or end-of-life components.
- Build, lead, and mentor a team of security professionals to achieve their goals and drive platform security excellence.
- Partner with Engineering, DevOps, and security teams to integrate secure-by-design principles and ensure unified security efforts.
- Monitor and manage platform-related security and operational incidents, ensuring timely resolution and continuous improvement.
- Stay ahead of emerging threats and trends to continuously evolve platform security practices.
THE STATS
What we're looking for in our next teammate
- Strong expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), container security, and DevSecOps practices.
- Knowledge of Linux (Ubuntu, Rocky, Amazon Linux) and general Linux best practices including logging, authentication, patch management.
- Proficient experience in software development (e.g., Python, JavaScript, or Java).
- Strong experience with managing programs and projects via tools like Jira.
- Transform strategic objectives into actionable programs of work, empowering engineers to execute effectively and drive successful outcomes.
- Experience in establishing and promoting security standards, policies, and best practices throughout the product lifecycle.
- Solid understanding of Web Application Firewalls, bot protection and overall Edge Security.
- Experience with threat modeling and secure design principles to identify and address potential security vulnerabilities early in the product development process.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

The applicable salary range for this position is $160,000 - $200,000, which is dependent on a variety of factors including relevant experience, location, business needs and market demand. This role may offer the following benefits: medical, vision, and dental insurance; life insurance; disability insurance; a 401(k) matching program; among other employee benefits. This role may also be eligible for short-term or long-term incentive compensation, including, but not limited to, cash bonuses and stock program participation. This role includes paid personal time off and 14 paid company holidays. FanDuel offers paid sick time in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.
