Expedia Global Payments (EGP) is looking for top engineering talent to help drive the development of our payment platform, seamlessly roll out new payment methods, and continuously improve on our operational excellence and engineering practices. We offer a highly dynamic set of services that enable customers from all over the world to pay for travel in a variety of ways. We build, operate, and improve payment services for Expedia Group's brands, our suppliers (hoteliers, airlines, vacation rental owners/agencies, etc.), and our corporate needs. We do this accurately and at scale, processing over $100 billion payments in 55+ currencies in over 155 countries every year, and across a diverse set of payment options! What You'll Do:

• This position focuses on implementing innovative software solutions for e-commerce systems and serving as a role model and mentor to fellow engineers

• Opportunity to expand your skills in building highly scalable solutions, influence others, and elevate the overall level of excellence within the team

• Play a key role in shaping decisions across the technology ecosystem within Expedia Group as a domain guide

• Participate in the design, development, and deployment efforts of multiple enterprise application projects to solve complex business problems

• Own and deliver tested and optimized high-performance code for public-facing, enterprise web portals applications

• Participate in the resolution of production issues and develop solutions to prevent future issues from happening again

• Collaborate with Team Developers, Program Managers, Testers, and Production Support Engineers in an agile development environment

• Teach and mentor junior developers in project implementation methodology

• You will tackle a wide range of software and system issues that will require a deep understanding of the application architecture, software engineering, and deployment infrastructure

• You will develop fast, scalable, highly available, and reliable micro-services that will process thousands of requests per second

Who You Are:

• 5+ years of software development experience (Strong preference for Java experience)

• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Spring Boot, Kubernetes, and storage solutions

• Experience in creating and supporting web services in a high-transactional environment

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming concepts, data structures, algorithms, and system-level programming (including multi-threaded programming)

• Track record of building your own automation and reporting tools to enhance your service's capabilities

• Architectural knowledge of designing and developing software in a distributed architecture for multi-tier applications

• High competency in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including estimation, scheduling, design, development, testing, delivery, and maintenance

• Ability to articulate technical design decisions and software implementations in technical forums

• Knowledge of performance testing, application tuning, and load testing

• Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience

• Preferred prior experience with e-commerce systems, payments solutions, and providers
