  We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated, and focused Senior Manager in Software Development Engineering to join the Tax & Regulatory Technology team as part of our Core Services Division.

  
  In this role, you will lead a multi-geolocation engineering team, providing technical leadership and people management for your team members. We seek to be effective and efficient in achieving our goal and would like to partner together to deliver our road map. The role entails working with business partners to gather requirements and drive solution design, development, and ultimate delivery. You can make critical technological, design & architecture choices for our Global Tax Platform. This space is exciting and offers a tremendous opportunity to influence, design, build, and deploy the next generation of Global Tax Platforms and Tax Determination services at Expedia Group.   What you will do:

  • Guide and coach a team to successfully deliver on lofty goals with speed and quality

  • Promote the development of maintainable and thoroughly tested code

  • Ensure your team is following coding standards and engineering excellence practices

  • Provide ongoing, real-time feedback to engineers on your team to promote their growth

  • Partner with program managers to collect feedback and manage team progress toward goals

  • Communicate clearly to product managers, partners, and engineers to remove ambiguity from larger projects

  • Provide high-level engineering estimates

  • Collaborate with architects and engineers in defining scalable solutions that incorporate data insights and your technical perspective in furthering the product and business.

  • Cross organizational boundaries (brands, divisions) to collaborate with other technology teams to solve complex, integrated problems.

  Who you are:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent related professional experience

  • 8+ years of software development experience in enterprise software

  • 3+ years of people management experience, leading a software engineering team

  • Proven experience in leadership and team building

  • The utmost passion for both technology and leadership

  • Experience in delivering end-to-end software applications/services

  • Strong knowledge of Full-stack application development

  • Good knowledge of Java, Kotlin, and JavaScript with expertise in at least one language 

  • Diverse background with data storage technologies (RDBMS, NoSql, Document Store, in-memory key/value, search systems)

  •  Cloud experience on AWS/Hybrid Cloud

The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $173,000.00 to $242,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $277,000.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.

Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience.  Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
