Job Description

TITLE: Senior Software Engineer / Principal Software Engineer

REPORTING TO: Development Manager

WORKING LOCATION: Bangalore, India

We are seeking a talented Full Stack Developer with expertise in the Java tech stack to join our dynamic team and work in a research life sciences environment. As a key member of our software development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in providing product support and ensuring the timely resolution of production issues reported by application users.

Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with teams to grasp project needs and convert them into tech specs.
2. Develop scalable software using Java and related technologies.
3. Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code adhering to standards.
4. Review code, debug, and troubleshoot for quality assurance.
5. Support products, resolving reported issues promptly.
6. Follow IT service management procedures for efficient product support.
7. Liaise with IT support for timely technical issue resolution.
8. Stay updated on emerging tech for better development processes.

Experience:

1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
2. 4 to 6 years of experience as a Full Stack Developer with expertise in the Java tech stack.
3. Strong proficiency in Java, Spring framework, Hibernate, and related technologies.
4. Experience with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like Angular or React.
5. Experience with developing web applications using R Shiny and R Studio.
6. Familiarity with database systems (SQL and NoSQL) and ORM technologies.
7. Experience with writing good quality technical documentation like installation guides, coding guidelines, and design documents.
8. Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience working in a laboratory or scientific research environment.
2. Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
3. Experience with scripting languages like Python.
4. Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools, including version control systems and CI/CD pipelines.

Performance Appraisal Criteria:

Eurofins has a strong focus on Performance Management system. This includes quarterly calibrations, half-yearly reviews, and annual reviews. The KPIs shall be set and may vary slightly between projects. These will be clearly communicated and documented during the first 30 days of your joining.
