The challenge

Esusu is looking for a Senior Staff Infrastructure Engineer to build our infrastructure to support our data pipelines and services. You will join our infrastructure team which is responsible for designing and implementing tooling to automate code deployment, monitor service health, improve stability of the backend, maintain our networking and system’s governance, and enforce service level agreements (SLAs). Your workload will include a mix of management and technical responsibilities as you both lead infrastructure projects and implement core technical aspects of our infrastructure.

More tactically, you will have the opportunity to own key development features across multiple lines of our business while implementing best-in-class security standards to protect customer data and provide robust platforms for our engineers to leverage. This will require the ability to jump in the weeds of writing code, planning for scale, and the capability to think from a product-oriented perspective.

Basic qualifications

• Quality work experience in Engineering, DevOps, Infrastructure.
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining infrastructure in the public cloud.
• Experience working in environments that utilize Infrastructure-as-Code philosophy and helping developers adopt such practices.
• Experience in a highly regulated and compliant industry. Regularly execute and provide evidence for regulatory assessments and audits.
• Build tooling to enhance developer productivity and improve developer experience.
• Build tooling to facilitate automated code testing, deployment, and release management in a consistent manner across teams, including command line tools for developers and CI/CD pipelines.
• Build monitoring solutions to provide insights into service health and collect business relevant metrics. Familiarity integrating data pipelines with common monitoring systems such as Grafana and Prometheus.
• Build highly secured network topologies and multi-account environments. Implement access controls and account governance.
• Expertise in a scripting language such as Bash, Go, or Python. In particular, experience writing command line tools and development tools (eg. Slack bots, Github scripts, Jira integrations, etc). 
• Experience with managing database infrastructure, including database orchestration, horizontal scaling, and snapshotting.
• Experience updating and patching systems and addressing vulnerabilities.
• Experience working with Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe).
• Experience with Atlassian project management tools (Jira, Confluence).

Above and beyond

• Experience defining and maintaining a set of service level agreements (SLAs). Regularly report on our adherence to these SLAs and identify gaps.
• Experience working in Fintech companies, particularly involving interactions with property management services and credit bureaus.
• Experience with infrastructure supporting data engineering and machine learning model deployment.
